Cleanoz® was invented by Dr. Jose Bensoussan, an E.N.T from Lyon, France.

Cleanoz® is the result of five years of intensive research. As a medical professional, Dr. Bensoussan sought to create a product in response to his patients’ real needs. His patients were unsatisfied with existing ineffective and unhygienic nose cleaners.

As a result of the years of feedback he received from patients, from 2002-2005, Dr. Bensoussan began the development of Cleanoz®. He invented the concept of using disposable nozzle pieces in place of existing washable products (international patents pending).

While on vacation with his family at the beach in August 2004, Dr. Bensoussan asked his children David (then 13 years old) and Barbara (then 10) to help him with the design of the electric nasal aspirator. Using her imagination, Barbara drew a nose cleaner shaped like a duck. At that exact moment a dolphin jumped out of the water. The dolphin shape was immediately agreed upon by the entire family.

They were all convinced that the smoothness of the dolphin shape was best for a nasal aspirator. A dolphin is soft, and smooth; a shape that would be harmless and ergonomically correct for a baby. With this design in mind, Dr. Bensoussan’s research commenced. Who could have imagined that a child’s drawing could inspire the creation of an effective device that thousands of mothers would use throughout the world?

The first draft was soon created, and many more drafts followed, until the exclusive design of Cleanoz® was born (US Design Patent 542915- other Patents pending).

The first Cleanoz® marketed in the US was Cleanoz®MB001. In February 2008, the new Cleanoz® MB002 replaces Cleanoz® MB001. Cleanoz® is now available worldwide; specifically in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan.
